Sake brewery visit: Yoshidaya in Nagasaki prefecture

Apr. 15. 2024
by Kyoko Nagano

Yoshidaya is one of the very small sake breweries located in Minamishimabara in Nagasaki prefecture. Currently it’s the 4th generation, Yoshiaki Yoshida running the brewery but his son who graduated Tokyo University of Agriculture, Brewing Science is now helping his father and brewing sake together. His son’s iconic brand Bang shows the new style label – the brewery has more than 100 years of history and uses traditional sake pressing method called Hanegi Shibori.

We had an opportunity to visit the brewery for the first time. Let me share some photos!

We had a really great time with Yoshidaya – the cafe was very beautiful. It would be great for family outing too if you are looking for visiting Minamishimabara area. Be sure to contact them in advance to see if they are opening the cafe on the day of your visit!
